A Poem Based on Zephaniah
Gather yourselves, yes gather
As kindling to the fire
And as your flesh is burned away
Light and heat will take its place
Agape flows through molten hearts
Bright light of His eternal life
Corporeal engulfed in flame
True man revealed in its place
His countenance, the burning bush
Of Sinai as the thunders roared
Of Jesus in transfiguration
Pentecostal fires of heaven
Yes gather to the burning flame
Consent there to be set ablaze
Allow yourself to burn away
Be gathered up in Jesus’ name
For fire will soon purify
And chaff erupt in puff of smoke
With tares removed out from the wheat
With sin and fear and death and sea
For who can stand before God’s face?
His burning love! His reckless grace!
Consent to the refiner’s fire
That you may live, and never die.
