Poetry from the Cabin 02/11/2024
The great living God, knows you to your core
Is speaking to us — are you listening?
Over-entertained, attention so short
Distracted from life and real meaning
Little T-ballers out on the field
Seeking distraction from chronic boredom
Slouching, gazing, sucking an orange peel
No one sees the pitch — still the ball is flung
The crack of the bat, like rolling thunder
Dreaming team wakes up, looking for the ball
Opportunity skips by lax wonder
Foolishly chasing the hit to the wall
If only we had watched and listened
And made the play as we intended
