Welcome,

Slow down. Dig deep. Let Scripture nourish your whole life.

Poetry from the Cabin 02/01/2024

Before the dawn breaks through the morning dark
The alarm sings, calling up the rising sun
Bare feet pad to coffee pot to start
Then to stove and set new logs to burn

Participate in earth’s anticipation
Sitting, dreaming, coffee hot and steaming
Then stir, set out for occupation
Alone, as if I own the roads I’m driving

Attentive silence through the waning night
The road flows by as contemplations
Then prayer begins to flow from deep inside
As light breaks through darkness’s stagnation

Coffee, firelight, and drive devotion
Deep into my troubled soul within
