Poetry from the Cabin 01/22/2024
Based on John 2:1-11
Stood six stone jars in entry hall
Stood there watching and vigilant
These six stone jars await the call
Seventh who is perfection sent
And Jars of clay in courtyard stand
Filled with wine but running dry
Await blessings that time will stand
In jars by fire purified
Clay jars interim as old wine skins
With blessing that will soon pass by
Like animals that hide man’s sins
Clay vessels grasping at God’s life
Living stone so soon rejected
Struck upon a skull named hill
Filthy made yet still perfected
His living waters flowing still
Stone jars by fire sanctified
Make ready to retain God’s life
