Poetry from the Cabin 1/12/2024
This morning I wrote on God’s timely provision. This afternoon the theme continued. We received a call that some young girls were in a bad situation. We have been praying for them for a while, but because of our living situation we have been unable to intervene. Today though, when things came to a head, we were able to share the bounty we have received. While praying, we really felt that the reason we have been so blessed is for this very moment. Perhaps that is how it always is. God’s blessings are intended not to flow into our lives like stagnant pools overgrown with algae, but through our lives like vibrant lakes filled with fish and wildlife.
Blessings flow through open hands
Like oil jars in barren lands
And trusting in the mornings keep
Of heavens bread plenty to eat
For heaven’s goods are never low
Through open hands the blessings flow
Give the best of what you get
And practice trust and be content
With measures full and running over
Promised good will be delivered
Blessed to live within His sight
Sparrows full of heavens light
The kingdom is upon this land
And blessings flow through open hands
