A meditation on Psalm 1
I’m planted
alone in the desert
On top of grand mountains
Or by the living stream
As I ponder
This harsh existence
My superior view
Or learn to trust and be
I worry
The trickle seams so small
The deserts and mountains
Seem unconquerable
I grow tall
The waters do not fail
I reach for the heavens
And gain a clearer view
The stream
That seemed so fragile
Quickly swells deep and wide
Afar I spy its waters
The river
Thunders, teaming with life
It sings in the mountains
It waters the desert
The mountains echo song
The deserts grow abundance
All creation enjoys
What well planted trees have known
