Mark 14:32-41 From Adams Perspective

I stand by in a garden once again,
As the fear of judgment for my sin,
Crushes blood out of the true man’s skin.

Memory of the first sin on earth,
Color reddens my own cheeks, it’s my curse,
The true man has carried from his birth.

I hid shame, and made false excuses,
Hiding from judgment, my abuse
Of boundaries set by love, wise and true.

I hear him, eyes downcast, “not my will,
But your will be now done.” My heart fills,
My eyes blur, “I deserve this death still!”

He stands up as lights move up the road.
Time with God has lightened His great load.
They take Him, just as though he was their foe.

O that I had sought God in my weakness,
Now Jesus takes on my guiltiness.
I, Adam, share with you this sameness.
