George Washington, William Wilberforce, Eric Liddell, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Jackie Robinson, John Paul II, and Charles Colson He does not hide there flaws, or overstate their goodness. Instead he lays out their various accomplishments in light of the culture that surrounded each of them. I found myself emotionally moved by his telling of each of their lives. The way he weaves the tales makes the reader palpably aware of their greatness despite their flaws.
