Who is Meek, a meditation on Matthew 5:5

He who stands before kings
But Trembles before God,
Who makes no promises
But is diligent in love,
When the armies cower
He stands up straight
Slingshot ready to crush
The head of the snake,
Who is meek, but he who is fearful of God
His fear has removed his fleshly façade,
Revealed royalty
Empowered to love

I wrote this poem after putting together Podcast Meditations Through the Beatitudes. Each podcast is a meditation through the whole narrative of scripture on each beatitude.
